2/5

Soul Searching by Nicholas Humphrey
- human nature and supernatural belief

Basically outlining the lack of evidence for the supernatural but concluding that the need for belief in the supernatural is part of the human mindset.

3/5

Gods of the New Millennium by Alan F. Alford
- scientific proof of flesh & blood gods

The only let-down for this book is the author's obsession with the idea that the gods came from Planet X/Niburu and genetically modified man to become the homo sapiens that we are today. There is obviously no evidence for this claim, however the background research that surrounds this underlying idea is well documented and makes for a fascinating read. At the beginning of the book Alford tried to set himself apart from other authors writing on similar topics by stating that he had written the book for himself, primarily for his own interest and personally visited many of the sites. However, he turned out to be yet another author (almost hypocritically) claiming that the lack of evidence/proof is proof in itself and that the only solution to the questions he raises is the one that has no supporting evidence. By pushing aside the unsupported claims, the author still brought to my attention many new ideas and refreshed others that I have read about before, for that I would recommend this book. Each chapter ends with a list of chapter conclusions which is a great addition because it helps make each covered topic sink in - if only more authors did it!

There is a statement apparently from the author at amazon.co.uk admitting that his ideas went a little wide of the mark. I found reading this statement odd and it puzzles me why the author has made such a U-turn in his beliefs which he spent 10 years documenting in his book. It almost rings like the stories of UFO witnesses retracting their stories after pressure from the FBI. buy from Amazon.co.uk

4/5

From the Ashes of Angels by Andrew Collins
- The Forbidden Legacy of a Fallen Race

The author takes us on a journey of the globe through biblical stories, myths and legends relating to angels and traces civilisations and races of people, comparing to compare them along the way. Angels were real.

4/5

Witnessed by Budd Hopkins
- the true story of the Brooklyn Bridge abduction

It had been some time since I had read a book on UFOs and alien abductions. None seemed to take my fancy as I kind of felt that "once you've read a couple then you've read them all". This one though was fascinating and gripping - I just didn't want to put it down as the "story" developed chapter after chapter. Sure, it covers common topics of alien abduction such as implants, nose bleeds and loss-of-time, but it also hit on areas I hadn't heard about before.buy from Amazon.co.uk

The Key to the Universe by Nigel Calder
- a report on the new physics

This book was pretty complex, but then again it's largely about quantum physics! I worked my way through it though, going over the more troublesome parts more than once which became rewarding for the later parts on black holes.

The Day After Roswell by Col. Philip J. Corso
- A Former Pentagon Official Reveals the U.S. Government's Shocking UFO Cover-up

Brian's Little Library

Atlantis - The Eighth Continent by Charles Berlitz

It started off a bit "basic" like "I've already heard all this before" but it improved and went into some depth, covering topics which I hadn't read about before.

The Puzzle Palace by James Bamford
- A Report on America's Most Secret Agency.

I give this book 4 and a 1/2 stars. Considering it's depth and detail and the number of acronyms the reader has to digest, I found it very easy to read thanks to the author's "light" writing style on a fascinating topic - it has even had me chuckling a couple of times!buy from Amazon.co.uk

Secret Germany by Michael Baigent & Richard Leigh
- Claus von Stauffenberg and the Mystical Crusade Against Hitler.

The Atlantis Blueprint by Rand Flem-Ath and Colin Wilson
- Unlocking the mystery of a long-lost civilization.
