Journaling June - Day 9
9th June 2026

Journaling June Day 9
----------------------
I kissed a girl, and I liked it... and then I woke up. Te-he.

The book about sleeping that I have been reading mentioned something about taking magnesium in the evening. I normally take it in the morning so I planned to take it in the evening instead, but yesterday I discovered it still on my worktop where I'd left it to remind myself to take it later, so unless I got a fresh one out of the packet and forgot I did that... Anyway, I took one yesterday evening, so maybe that had an impact on my sleep and dreams.

Also, I had neck ache again yesterday in the evening and I was hoping it would be gone by the morning, but it was not, which, as is typical now, I found it uncomfortable to ride my bike - I had another item to post - and now, by the afternoon I'm feeling somewhat dizzy... My first encounter with this issue was after I broke some ribs a few years ago and I couldn't ride my bike for a few weeks, and when I tried, my neck hurt. The issue crops up at random.

Also in the evening I was doing some Amstrad Radio stuff. I used the Dell laptop, which has Microsoft Office 2007 on it (I love the aesthetic of that), to document each station I was finding, as suggested by ChatGPT. Then today I remembered... I have that Amstrad Word processor and I could have used the spreadsheet function in that... which then lead me to browse through ebay for all Amstrad related things (under £20)...

I ended up with so many ebay tabs open in Firefox that it was using 10GB of RAM (to the right is when I closed it)... how do webpages require so much when only 400MB had been downloaded??? Ebay is such bloat though, it generally takes a few seconds to update/load a page, and often it appears to be AdBlock doing battle with all of the additional crap that causes delays.

I had to bury another bird this morning. A young blackbird that had evidently flown into the kitchen window a few hours earlier, and now I haven't heard the resident mommy bird around as she's usually happily singing away somewhere nearby...

I did spot this little fellow...

I don't see many of them now.

Speaking of, a new old stock IDE hard drive arrived in the post today, still sealed. I was tempted to test it but elected to just list it straight back on ebay, and keep it sealed and unused; if it doesn't sell at what I'm asking for it then I'll probably end up using it.

Someone offered me a 40% discount on a PowerMac... but it's a long drive away, so I started searching for other things I might be able to collect on the way while I procrastinate about it.

Then my neighbour knocked on my door, experiencing a problem with his phone. A quick reset later and I popped it back round to him.

Oh, my sister and my niece popped round yesterday with some free food. They have a habit of buying things they don't like and then handing them over to me, knowing I don't turn down free food. My niece was also curious to see my car in its garage - yes, it is odd to find a car in my house!

My neck issue continued to bother me throughout the day and I ended up not getting much done, like it was making me feel "out of sorts".

At bed time I spend another "hour" playing with the Amstrad Radio; I found air traffic radio chatter and installed FlightRadar24 on my phone to see if I could correlate what I was hearing with what I was seeing. Not being all that certain about what I was hearing and having no prior dabblings in this regard, it was quite satisfying when I got a clear match up between radio and radar with a flight adjusting its heading for landing at Dublin airport. There was also a "search and rescue" helicopter I spotted on Radar and listened out for, hoping to hear something about it as it returned to Caernarfon, but nothing.
