Journaling June - Day 19-21
Journaling June
Day 19-21
There are some things I've been getting done, while others not, it has to be said. I've been faffing about with the iMac for a few days. The main issue was getting the fan associated with the non-existent hard drive to stop spinning at full tilt, which I have now managed to achieve and I've been typing up a project log for all of this. Now I'm just dragging stuff over from my current main computer, which is involving some procrastination and dilly-dallying. Like, Thunderbird Mail stuff, and Firefox data, only to then keep using my old main computer so the data I was in the middle of preparing to drag over is now out of date... gaaa. The iMac does run quite warm though. Also, at 27" inches it's massive. I mean it looked big enough sat on my lounge floor but when I carried it upstairs and sat it on my desk in front of the two other screens there... it dwarfs them! I might have to chop a few inches off the legs of my desk if it causes me neck ache... Chopping legs off to cure neck ache... One thing I had to accept was not going to work when I assumed it would be feasible in one version or another was Davinci Resolve. I've never managed to get that to work with Linux so I don't know why I had such high hopes. I have now installed Kdenlive instead though so I am hopeful I can use that instead with relative ease. At least that installed easily. In addition to these things I did manage to both go for a run these past couple of days, and ride my bike. The weather for the next few days look to be good so I hope to keep up with this. |
