LFS / Live for Speed...
I created this
page to keep track of my efforts/time
in the free to play LFS racing sim,
which I enjoyed during July - August
2020.
You can find out more or download the
game here:
www.lfs.net
Location:
There is essentially
one location available in the free
version, Blackwood. However, it is
available in three configurations (as
well as the Car Park), which you can
reverse the driving direction, and
change the weather (Clear Day, Cloudy
Afternoon, Cloudy Sunset). So far I
have left mine on Clear Day.
- GP
Track: 2.0 miles
- Historic: 2.0 miles
- Rallycross: 1.1 miles
- Carpark: (I think this is just available to driving around, not racing)
Cars:
There are three cars
available in the free version.
|
1.3 front wheel drive |
1.8 rear wheel drive |
1.2 rear wheel drive |

I began
with the XF GTI and then moved up to
the XR GT. I leave all the settings on
default.
Competitors:
You can choose up to 11 AI competitors
to race with. You can specify their
individual skill levels (Beginner,
Learner, OK, Quick, Pro), mixing and
matching them throughout the grid. You
can specify your start position but
this will be automatically placed
based on the finishing position of
your previous race.
Ideas:
- Starting at the back of the grid gives you the challenge of getting to
the front within the chosen number of
laps.
- Mixing the skill levels of the other drivers and where they and you are
placed on the grid makes for some
interesting experiences and results;
- Put the Pro's at the front and they'll typically pull away
from the less skilled.
- Put the Pro's behind the less skilled and they can mix the
pack up as they work their way
through. |
