Day 1, Just as I was getting this advent calendar thing
started for this year I happened upon a graphic from last year's
(Day 17) which listed a Wish List
of sorts. Reading it again made me chuckle because of what
things "came true" or are still awaiting fruition - I have
amended the list accordingly:

In detail...
- It took me over 6 months to get the garage door done; the bulk
of that time was spent procrastinating, mostly over clearing the
stuff out of the room. Getting this task done and having my car
inside is a highlight of this year.

This is how much clutter was in the room.

- This time last year I was attending a short introductory class
on welding. My car will surely need some welding done to it at
some point, but there are more pressing issues (headgasket; this
could probably be considered a low point of this year, but I
don't think of it that way).
- The shed roof is still "as it was" albeit more deteriorated;
I've not really given it much thought.
- Earlier this year I bumped into a plummer of whom I have a
prior acquaintance and spoke to him about tacking my boiler. I
was supposed to message him to have him round during the warmer
months of the year (when heating engineers aren't in such
demand), but I didn't get around to that until some weeks ago,
after I'd tided up somewhat and addressed some things in my
kitchen (where the boiler is)... again, procrastination - but I
didn't hear back from him. I even had another go at the boiler
myself and replaced the "burner nozzle", but it's still not
playing. Work is looking quiet next week so I might try the
plummer again. I've only been living in a house with no "central
heating" and having cold showers for a few years now, so it's
not like I'm in a hurry or anything...
- I "fixed" my wood burning stove, as in I got it into a
state whereby I could still use it, and during these winter
months I typically use it once a week, I can't be buggered with
lighting it and tending to it more than this - I usually spend
some time cooking food on it that lasts me a few days so I don't
have to burn electricity on other days.
- I've not even thought about the kitchen floor.
- I got some of the insulation work done this year. The rest of
the materials still occupy my lounge and other areas.
- I ended up completely changing my internet this year. I
basically bought the cheapest sim deal for my phone that has
just enough data each month and I tether to that. It's working
well for me and is saving me a packet (I like being frugal).
