Day 10,

Last week, while I was out in my car, I popped into a thrift shop and walked out with this little lot:

I only paid for the Divergent books; I needed the first one as I had some time ago acquired the second in the series, albeit as a hardback, but obviously couldn't read that until I'd found a copy of the first (there seems to be lots of the 2nd instalment about!) Anyway, since these were effectively the trilogy in paperback (although they were all separate on the shelves and took me a while to realise they were all there) I thought it best to buy the set and then I can sell them on as such once I've read them (unless they don't sell for much, in which case I'll donate them back to the shop). A hardback of the first and third will surely remain illusive. There's actually a 4th (aptly named Four), and a fifth, of sorts, but reading about that on Wikipedia gives me the impression these aren't pertinent to the series, but perhaps I'll feel different towards the end of these.

The two CDs were in the free section, the Fugees and Sia. I didn't bother checking these while I was there, but once home I opened the Sia case to find this inside...

I laughed, and it was only later still when I discovered Sia's CD remained underneath. Always check what's in the case as it's common practice to just swap things into the case at hand (I'm certainly guilty of this)! Having said that, I was about ready to just download a copy of the album to burn to a CD as a "Backup Copy".

I was given the packs of labels, so I now have even more labels I know not what to do with.

The gadget to the left is a Philips alarm clock, given to me for testing, but it is indeed faulty.

It switches on but none of the buttons operate and the catch for the backup battery compartment is broken (although still attached) and there appears to be something loose inside, and also a missing screw, although the casing perhaps needs prising apart to gain access (someone may have already attempted this). I'm guessing it's from the 90's and while I'm not a fan of snooze buttons on alarm clocks, let-alone them being more prominent than On/Off buttons (as they generally are), I like how this alarm clock has the button as one of the four feet so when you press down on the entire unit it commands it to snooze.

I might have more to add on this on another day...
