| Day 6, A project I have been putting off
for years far too long, is doing something
with this mix-tape from my childhood.
 Background: My
early experience of music came in
the form of this 'mix tape' that my
step-dad obtained as being part of a
mobile disco (that's how my mum met
him). To be allowed to play
this cassette during my childhood was a special
privilege, and to avoid it wearing
out or getting chewed up in a player
(as I remember it doing at least
once, and much to my distress*) I had my
own copy (long since lost). This
cassette contains a treasure trove
of chart hits from the early 1980s/late
1970s - I feel a great sense of nostalgia when I hear any of
these songs play on the radio today (as they still do), and
I imagine them playing on their original vinyl and being
recorded to this cassette during a 1980s disco.
*for some reason I developed a
phobia to chewed up cassette tape
jammed in a player and always had to
get my dad to untangle the mess from
my player.
In all this project didn't take too long to piece together
and it was fun to complete!
